Low Sensory Live Music with Northwest Sinfonietta
Children’s Museum of Tacoma | February 9 | 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
Greentrike and Northwest Sinfonietta are excited to bring live music experiences to children in a low-sensory environment that welcomes all responses to the music! Children will enjoy a fun and interactive program of classical and popular music (including favorite Disney tunes) with a string quartet from Northwest Sinfonietta, an instrument petting zoo, and a Q&A. Performances are free and no registration is required.
Hilltop Healthy Kids & Family Carnival
People’s Center | February 11 | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Join People’s Center for the 13th annual Hilltop Healthy Kids & Family Carnival featuring live music, tons of fun, and free services for kids and families. The Hilltop Healthy Kids and Family Carnival is part of a month-long celebration of Black History Month at People’s Center. Join us in February for free events and activities.
Black History Month Culture & Arts Festival
Karshner Museum | February 11 | Noon to 5 p.m.
Join the Karshner Museum in Puyallup on February 11 for a Black History Month Culture and Arts Festival featuring wonderful art and performances from around the world performed by award-winning groups from the Puget Sound area to celebrate Black History.
Nature Walk – Winter Wonderland Oak Tree Park
Oak Tree Park | February 11 | 10 – 11 a.m.
Explore Tacoma Parks during these naturalist-led walks. Discover the amazing plants and animals that live in these parks and how they adapt in the different seasons. Participants must be able to travel on unpaved, uneven trails for up to a mile. Recommended for ages 3+. Service animals permitted, no pets allowed.
USO Northwest Storytime
Children’s Museum at JBLM | February 13 | 10 a.m.
Join USO Northwest and the Children’s Museum at JBLM for story time! Story time will be offered one Monday a month during low sensory hours. This event is open to service members and their families. You must register to attend this event.
Family STEAM Days – Porsche Papercraft
Lemay America’s Car Museum| February 18 | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Celebrate the opening of our newest exhibit, 75 Years of Porsche, by creating 3D sculptures of iconic Porsche vehicles. Design, build, tinker and learn together as you explore the world of automobiles and its relation to science, technology, engineering, art and math on Family STEAM Day. Family STEAM Days are free for ACM Members and is also included with Museum admission. Museum visitors age 18 and under receive FREE admission on Family STEAM Days.
