Greentrike’s Children’s Museum at JBLM are thrilled to congratulate the winners of April’s San Diego vacation giveaway!
Caroline, Jaime, and Santiago arrived at the Museum to receive their prize, which includes tickets to San Diego, restaurant gift cards, tickets to the USS Museum, toys, and more from Greentrike CEO Chelsie Webster, and shared that they have been frequent visitors to the Children’s Museum at JBLM since their move to Washington.
Caroline shared that her favorite thing about the Museum is how welcoming and engaging it is for young children, with her son enjoying hands-on activities where he can move around and interact with everything.
“It’s one of the few places where my son Santiago (2yrs old) can safely explore, learn, and just be a kid while I get to play alongside him and watch him grow. He loves the jungle gym and has really grown his confidence climbing on the ropes. He also enjoys the water play area and the calming room where he can use the swings and the Lego wall.”
Caroline’s family came to Washington last spring from Utah for a PCS (Permanent Change of Station) move. “The Children’s Museum has been such a lifesaver, especially during the winter months. As a newer family to Washington, it’s given us a place to get out of the house, stay active, and connect with other families. We heard about it through the base community after we PCS’d here, and it quickly became one of our go-to spots.”
The San Diego trip will be their first trip as a family of four. “It means so much to us,” Caroline shared. “Opportunities like this aren’t something we usually get, and it gives us a chance to make really special memories together as a family, especially as we’re about to welcome a new baby any day now.”
This gift comes from a generous donor and friend of Greentrike and supporter of the Children’s Museum at JBLM. The donor donated the Honoring Our Service Members package, as well as the San Diego vacation, to Greentrike, which was part of the Mary Bridge Children’s Festival of Trees. This beautiful display was housed in the lobby of the Children’s Museum at JBLM, where all military families were able to enjoy and celebrate it during the holiday season, before being donated to Santa’s Castle. The donor expressed their wishes to donate the San Diego vacation to a military family, collaborating with Greentrike to select a family to receive the gift.
