Family-Friendly Pierce County Festivals 2024

This multi-day event features live entertainment, tasty food, children’s activities, and much, much more!

Celebrate the summer with live entertainment performances including music, fire dancers, and a motocross show, as well as food trucks, a beer garden, and interactive sports and art for all ages. The festival, hosted in Fort Steilacoom Park at 68714 87th Ave SW in Lakewood, lasts from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., so there’s a full day of play to be had!

How cool is it that a whole neighborhood can get together and turn their porches into musical stages for an entire afternoon? Porches and yards between Sprague and S Alder/Oakes and 6th Ave to S 12th St. will be featuring local artists for this fun, walkable music festival. Plus, join Greentrike on S. State Street between S 10th and S 12th for some playful, family-friendly activities!

Wright Park transforms into a celebration of international delights July 27-28 from 12-7 p.m. for the MOSAIC Arts and Culture Festival. The free community event highlighting traditional dance, music, art and food marks its 36th year under the park’s beautiful canopy of trees.

The Proctor District is hosting a big community street fair on North 26th & Proctor Streets in Tacoma to celebrate the arts from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., complete with live music and entertainment, a Farmers’ Market, a children’s area, and more!

Starting on Broadway between 9th and 11th Streets, the Downtown Tacoma Block Party is a huge all-day festival showcasing live music and entertainment, art, kids’ activities, yummy food, and more from businesses, vendors, and artists around the community.

The Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and Museum of Glass are hosting an amazing festival celebrating Native art and culture, featuring music, artwork vendors, cultural dances, and more! The festival is from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and you can find it at the History Museum at 1911 Pacific Avenue in Tacoma.

Check out the Washington State Fair, a staple of September in Washington which offers free admission to military members and their dependents every Monday. There is a cost to attend, but check with your child’s school to see if they offer free youth tickets!

The annual HONK! Fest is a community music festival featuring tons of local bands and groups – but rather than a formal stage, these artists will be marching and dancing with the audience. Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own instruments and noisemakers to join in on the fun, too! The festival will be taking place from 1 – 5 p.m. at the McKinley Hill Business District in Parkland.

The Tacoma Moon Festival is an annual event taking place in Chinese Reconciliation Park at 1741 N. Shuster Parkway in Tacoma from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and will feature live dance and music performances, artists, local food and drink, fun activities for children and youth, and engaging historical tours of the park.

Countdown to the New Year with the community at Tollefson Plaza in downtown Tacoma, which will be illuminated with breathtaking light art, live performances, and more! Then, each night through January 12, 2025, enjoy the light art by taking a walk or drive through the streets of downtown.
