Masks
Masks will be encouraged, but are no longer required, indoors and outdoors. Program participants and staff can choose to continue to wear a mask or not wear a mask. We acknowledge that changes with public masking can be difficult and stressful. Please have a conversation as a family to discuss your thoughts and feelings on masking and what makes your child and family feel comfortable. Greentrike staff, programs, and participating children and families will support and respect the choices of individuals. Masks will continue to be provided for anyone who requires one. Please note that the following Play to Learn sites will continue to have masking policies in place until further notice due to site-specific jurisdiction and/or guidelines:
- Salishan Family Investment Center (Wednesday)
Quarantine
Program participants and staff exposed to someone with COVID-19 no longer need to quarantine, unless they have COVID-19 symptoms, regardless of their vaccination status. Individuals exposed to COVID-19 will need to get tested 3-5 days after exposure, regardless of vaccination status, and monitor for symptoms. It is also encouraged that individuals wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days after exposure. If symptoms develop, individuals will need to quarantine at home and if symptom onset occurs at school, program participants and staff will be sent home immediately; a negative test will be required to return to school. Greentrike staff will notify those who were potentially exposed within programs. Program participants and staff exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, regardless of whether they were knowingly exposed or not, must get tested before returning to the classroom. Any individuals who are symptomatic, but are negative for COVID-19, should consider wearing a mask while participating in our programs to reduce spreading germs to others.
Isolation
Any adult, child, or staff member who tests positive for COVID-19 must isolate at home for at least 5 full days, regardless of vaccination status. They can resume participation in Greentrike programs on day 6 if they have:
- No symptoms, or symptoms are improving,
- No fever in the past 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, AND
- Test negative with an at-home, antigen, or PCR test after day 5. Testing after day 10 is not necessary. If they do not test negative after day 5, they can return after day 10 from the onset of symptoms or date of positive COVID test.
Health Screening
By attending a Greentrike program, you agree that you and your child(ren) are:
- Not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 not caused by allergies or another condition. Symptoms include fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, the recent loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Any symptoms of COVID will require a negative test to return to school. Accepted tests include antigen PCR, administered at home, at a community testing site, or by a healthcare provider.
- In compliance with any required isolation, detailed above, if they tested positive for COVID-19.
- Fever-free for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medication.
- Symptom-free from intestinal upsets, vomiting, or diarrhea for 24 hours.
If you are in doubt about whether you or your child(ren) is well enough to attend a Greentrike program, we appreciate you erring on the side of caution and keeping your child home.
As we have observed over the past two years, please note that these guidelines could once again change. As always, our team is grateful for your partnership and the mutual understanding and respect we hold as a community.
