On Thursday, April 6, 2023, Greentrike is dedicating Pay As You Will (PAYW) admission at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma to support WayOut Kids (WOK) and their Tacoma Juneteenth Celebration. The day falls during Spring Break week for Tacoma students, bringing in more traffic to the Museum than on regular admission days. Greentrike is proud to sponsor WOK’s Juneteenth Celebration by providing them with all PAYW admission collected on that day and is calling their community to help support WOK by making a Pay As You Will donation.
Pay As You Will is the donation-based admission model at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma and at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This admission-by-donation model is unique to Greentrike Children’s Museums and was created to make playful spaces and experiences accessible for every family. April 6 will be the first PAYW admission day dedicated to supporting a partner community organization.
Jerome “JD” Davis, CEO of WayOut Kids, said, “Thank you Greentrike and all the community champions who make their way to the Children’s Museum of Tacoma Thursday April 6th. On this special day, your Pay As You Will donations will help a great cause and community celebration!”
The Juneteenth Celebration, hosted by WayOut Kids and local partner organizations, takes place on June 19 at Stewart Heights Park in Tacoma from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival features national recording artist Jay Holiday, fun activities for families, and over fifty vendors. JD shared, “This is a day for us to come together, celebrate, and move forward!”
Greentrike OSTI Operations Manager Bernie Rhoades said, “As one of our Expanded Learning Opportunity providers, WayOut Kids promotes healthy lifestyles for children, leadership, and FUN, and that strengthens our community!”
WayOut Kids creates educational content for children to inspire positive life choices, improve health, and drive successful long-term outcomes. WOK has featured the Children’s Museums of Tacoma and at JBLM on their segments and is an Expanded Learning Opportunity provider for Greentrike.
