Expanded Learning Opportunities for Families
Deeply enriching, widely available programs that help students develop their passions, interests, and social-emotional skills

Expanded Learning Opportunities powered by Greentrike OSTI
Plug into Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) for learning and enrichment programming like visual and performing arts, dance, robotics, STEM, mentorship, and more. These programs take place before, during, and after school. ELO programs provide a safe place for students to learn new skills, find their spark and voice, build positive relationships, and connect with their community and peers.
Beyond the Bell and Club Beyond
Tacoma Public Schools (TPS), Greentrike, Metro Parks, and community partners have come together to offer Beyond the Bell. Beyond the Bell lets students choose from more activities, at their school, than ever before.
Choose from options for before and after school, in-service days, and school breaks.
Descriptions and schedules for all TPS activities can be found on the TPS registration app.
Beyond the Bell is in elementary schools and Club Beyond is in middle schools across Tacoma Public Schools.
“Pay What You Choose”
Pay What You Choose” is flexible pricing that makes activities affordable for every student. During registration, participants decide to pay between nothing at all and $150 for activities.
Every dollar goes back into the Beyond the Bell program, making activities affordable and accessible for everyone.
During registration for Beyond the Bell activities on the TPS Family App, participants will be asked for an amount to pay for activities. This special launch pricing is for activities through the end of December 2021.
Expanded Learning Opportunities at University Place School District
ELO is now available at four locations across University Place School District (UPSD). ELO sessions are available at Chambers Primary School, Evergreen Primary School, Sunset Primary School, and University Place Primary School.
All sessions are Pay What You Choose, a sliding scale between $0 and $150. Support ELO programming for students by making a Pay What You Choose contribution during registration.
