Preschool Powered by Play
Greentrike’s Preschool Powered by Play is inspired by the best in early childhood education and by the Museum’s mission to honor children and champion play.
Serving children ages 2-5 years old and their adults in Toddler and Preschool classes, this relationship-based program supports parental engagement in and encouragement of the natural, playful discovery process, helping prepare children to be confident and eager learners who are ready for school and their life journey.

The Muse: A Children’s Center
The Muse: A Children’s Center offers high quality, licensed child care that emphasizes a child-centered approach to early learning. The Muse is a program of the Children’s Museum of Tacoma in collaboration with UW Tacoma. At The Muse children are seen as capable, contributing, and compassionate citizens of our community who partner with teachers to discover exploration and learning opportunities within their environment. We promote school readiness by developing critical thinking and social-emotional skills through play-based learning that includes math, science, and the arts.

Gingerbread Jamboree
Have a sticky and sweet time at the annual Gingerbread Jamboree at the Hotel Murano’s Bicentennial Pavilion. The Gingerbread Jamboree features candy buffets and lots of frosting! Build the gingerbread house of your dreams either as a family or individually. Enjoy snacks and entertainment, including a sing-a-long, drawings and music. This event is an essential holiday tradition for all Puget Sound families!

Scooter Grants
At the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, we’ve heard exceptional, innovative, and even wild concepts at our annual Symposium On Our Youngest Citizens and follow-up surveys for the past few years, and we know you have some amazing ideas for improving the lives of children in Pierce County. With funding from South Sound Together, we’re excited to partner with you to bring these projects to life.

Community Events
Greentrike attends many community events each year, providing family-friendly activities like scavenger hunts, twirly birds, giveaways, STEAM activities, and art projects. Our booth also provides resources for families that may be new to the area, or interested in playful, early childhood experiences.
