Movie in the Park
Meridian Habitat Park | August 4th
Visitors to Meridian Park are invited to spread out a blanket or chairs, bring their friendly pooches if they’d like, and watch DC League of Superpets! Fun, pre-show activities and games start at 7 p.m., and the movie itself starts at dusk. To attend, visit 14422 Meridian East, South Hill Puyallup.
Uptown Summer Concert Series
Uptown Gig Harbor Pavilion | August 3rd and 10th
Love music and good vibes? Grab your lawn chair and head to Uptown Gig Harbor Pavilion, which will be hosting its last two Summer Concert Series events of the year! The first concert will feature blues and soul music, and the second will feature funk. Each will be taking place at 4701 Point Fosdick Dr. in Gig Harbor, WA from 6 – 8 p.m.
Tacoma PorchFest
Between Sprague and S Alder/Oakes and 6th Ave to S 12th St. | August 5th
How cool is it that one neighborhood can get together and turn their porches into musical stages for an entire afternoon? From 1 – 6 p.m., porches and yards between Sprague and S Alder/Oakes and 6th Ave to S 12th St. will be featuring local artists for this fun, walkable music festival.
Downtown Tacoma Block Party
9th & Broadway | August 6th
Starting on Broadway between 9th and 11th Streets, the Downtown Tacoma Block Party is a huge all-day festival showcasing live music and entertainment, art, kids’ activities, yummy food, and more from businesses, vendors, and artists around the community. The festival lasts from 12 – 8 p.m., and don’t forget to stop by our booth right next to Channing Baby and Co.!
In the Spirit Arts Market & Northwest Native Festival
Washington State History Museum | August 12th
The Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and Museum of Glass are hosting an amazing festival celebrating Native art and culture, featuring music, artwork vendors, cultural dances, and more! The festival is from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and you can find it at the History Museum at 1911 Pacific Avenue in Tacoma.
Poetic Justice
LeMay America’s Car Museum Haub Family Field | August 25th
Love music, poetry, comedy, and delicious food? The Black Night Market is hosting a big event featuring Black and BIPOC owned businesses, food trucks, live performers, family activities and more! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs with you to LeMay America’s Car Museum Haub Family Field at 2702 East D Street in Tacoma, where the event will be taking place from 4 – 10 p.m.
90-Second Newbery Film Festival Screening
Salishan Family Investment Center (FIC) | August 26th
This annual festival features short films made by kids that tell the stories of Newbery award-winning books in unconventional ways! The event will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Salishan Family Investment Center at 1724 East 44th Street in Tacoma.
STEAM Day With Greentrike
Moore Library | August 30th
Join us as we explore concepts of science, technology, engineering, art, and math with fun and educational activities! We’ll be gathering at the Moore Library at 215 South 56th Street right here in Tacoma, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Support from Tacoma Creates and our partnership with Tacoma Public Libraries makes this event available for children and families in our community.
