Turtle Time at Tacoma Nature Center

Tacoma Nature Center | Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Join Tacoma Nature Center staff to learn all about turtles and meet some of these special reptiles up close and personal! Your family of up to six will help care for the turtles that live in the Nature Center, have a hands-on encounter with one of our turtle ambassadors, and make a special craft during this 45-60 minute program. Recommended for ages 3 and up.

Little Boats: Homegrown Innovation

Harbor History Museum | Thursdays – Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The exhibit features a fascinating range of full-size, model, and toy boats, including Avanti, which is featured in the current issue of Small Boat Magazine.

Seattle Asian American Film Festival

Virtual | March 3 – 13

The 10th annual Seattle Asian American Film Festival showcases feature-length, short, and animated films by and about Asian Americans across North America, with an emphasis on filmmakers from the Pacific Northwest. Filter for “Kid-Friendly” and “Family” in the Film Guide to find films for the whole family to enjoy!

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos. Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Imagine Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

Tacoma Armory | March 5 – April 16

Admire 200 of Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous works, including The Starry Night, Irises and Sunflowers, projected in Image Totale and accompanied by the music of great composers like Mozart and Bach.

Family Concert, “Youth, I Do Adore Thee”

A family concert celebrating the musical child in all of us, with works for and about children. Music from the Broadway stage (The Sound of Music, The King and I) and film (Mary Poppins, To Kill a Mockingbird) will be featured along with classical works by Georges Bizet and Maurice Ravel.
