The beginning of November is commonly celebrated as Día de los Muertos, known in English as Day of the Dead. Despite the name, this celebration of life and death actually spans multiple days, where people traditionally create community altars, or ofrendas, to honor their departed loved ones. Up and Atom – Orca Whale Craft

Tacoma Public Libraries have a new Up and Atom every weekday! On November 1, check out the Orca Whale Craft workshop at Kobetich on 212 Browns Point Blvd NE from 4 – 5:30 p.m and learn about these marine mammals represented frequently in Indigenous visual works.
Bike Carnival
Tacoma Armory | November 4
Learn about bike safety while enjoying food, activities, and a display of odd bicycles at the Tacoma Armory! Families are also invited to receive free helmets and fittings, as well as bike lights. The Carnival will be taking place from 5 – 7 p.m. at 1001 S. Yakima Ave.
Low Sensory Live Music with Northwest Sinfonietta
Children’s Museum of Tacoma | November 16
Greentrike and Northwest Sinfonietta are excited to bring live music experiences to children in a low-sensory environment that welcomes all responses to the music! The Children’s Museum of Tacoma at 1501 Pacific Avenue will be hosting two performances: from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. and again from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. For our friends at JBLM, check out the Northwest Sinfonietta at the Children’s Museum at JBLM on November 13.
